“A man is as unhappy as he has convinced himself he is.”
-Seneca
Are you happy? I mean.. Really Happy. It might be something you haven’t thought about for a while, but it’s a question worth answering. The “always-on” business culture makes it difficult to find time to recharge.
The few minutes you have to yourself are probably used to check email or respond to a text. With so little personal time, it’s almost impossible to balance the demands of career and family.
No worries. I’ve struggled with these things myself, and I’ve learned a few lessons along the way. I’m here to share what I’ve learned in my career and provide the best tools and strategies to help you work more efficiently.
The Journey: Stress to Serenity
I started Almost Vested in 2019 because I was stressed out. Several companies in my industry had layoffs and some of my friends were casualties. Because of that I attempted to preserve as much capital as I could.
For several months I squirreled away money and prepared for the inevitable job loss. However, I never lost my job. I only made myself miserable.
Eventually, I straightened up by reading books and learning to control my thoughts.
After all my reading, I noticed there was an information gap for corporate employees planning to work a full career. Most resources sell the fantasy of early retirement.
